MTV/ McDonald's and the Globalization of Popular Culture

McDonald's

MTV has really been the deciding media force of popular youth culture, right from its inception. The network has captured the hearts (and wallets) of millions of youngsters by a steady stream of music videos and calculated wackiness. It has successfully built their tiny American cable channel into a global youth culture empire. MTV is now available nearly anywhere there’s a cable hookup, which can be seen in 330 million households in 140 countries. While globalization can unify countries and create common ties between them, it can also homogenize the world, trading any impression of cultural heritage for a shared interest. A survey comes out with the belief that MTV is “a place where the audience is entertained by commodities, where selling is mingled with amusement.” My straight sentence can be as; MTV puts the viewer into a sort of passive consumer fantasy world, where audiences are watching pure advertisement disguised as entertainment.

Globalization has influenced almost every aspect of life in almost every nation. It started in India in 1991. One of the most influential changes came with the introduction of fast food restaurants like McDonald’s into foreign countries. Talking about culture and McDonald's is a great challenge. People of metros in a country like India are vehemently running after McDonald’s. I can’t say at all as, there is no culture in McDonald's, except "junk" food. It maybe too greasy and maybe bringing high cholesterol, but youths find it’s a matter of vanity to spend time with their blloved with a cup of coffee. But, its true that all around the world, in every place you will find a McDonald's, (McDonald's currently operates more than 30,000 restaurants in more than 120 countries) you will find signs, symbols of the culture of that place, mixed up with the culture of McDonald's. And that, represents the culture of the world, isn't that great?

Drink Water
Pure Water

Drink Water --- Stay healthy and fit.

It’s a popular myth to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven a value. Here I have tried to publish the use of water to my readers. It has been discovered by a Japanese medical society, that not only old and serious diseases but also modern illnesses can be cured 100% by the Water Treatment. Headache, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, body ache, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and ear nose and throat diseases can fully be cured by Water Treatment.

The Chinese and Japanese used to drink hot tea with their meals. Maybe it is proper time to adopt their drinking habit while eating. For those who like to drink cold water, this write up may be applicable for them. It is a proven fact that a cup of cold drink after a meal can solidify the oily stuff that has been consumed. It can also slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, there remain a possibility of turning into fats and leading to cancer. So, it is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

WATER TREATMENT: ---

1. Drink 4 x 160 ml glasses of water, as you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth.
2. For old or sick people who are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses daily.

3. Do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes, after brushing and cleaning the mouth.

4. You may eat and drink as normally, after 45 minutes

5. Do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
after 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner

6. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards - daily.

At the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times. But this treatment has no side effects, however, it is suggested to continue this treatment and make this as a routine work in our life.
