Gonzo journalism

Gonzo journalism is a highly subjective and enormously personal form of reporting....

Gonzo Journalism is subjectively written where the writing style was pioneered by the late Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. It tends to favor style over accuracy and often uses personal experiences. It is well known for breaking some of the major rules of standard journalism. Adequately blending fact with fantasy & featuring the writer at the center of the story, Gonzo Journalism generally used the first person narrative voice. It sometimes mixed chaos with fact. The word Gonzo was first used to describe an article by Hunter S. Thompson, in 1970. Hunter S. Thompson is accountable for popularizing this style later. Quotations, sarcasm, humor, exaggeration, and profanity is common factor is Gonzo journalism. Its may be termed as New Journalism, often including the reporter as part of the story via a first person narrative. Different perceptions of reality one man’s fact are another man’s fantasy - this concept of this journalism is neither a paradox nor an oxymoron.
